The Object of Their Attention.....

We had some big things happening on our block yesterday that I thought I would share. Our neighbor a few houses down decided that they needed some new trees. These were good size trees which of course required the help of machinery......a BIG BACKHOE! I can't even explain how excited my boys were when they realized what was going on. It was somewhat of a cold day, but that did not stop them from being outside to watch the spectaticular event. I finally had to convience them that they had to have their jackets on to stay outside. So, there they were decked out in hats and coats sitting on our driveway watching every move. My next hurdle was lunchtime. I had to then convience them that they could see from our window and got them inside. However, they would not leave the front door after they came in. What is a parent to do since they need to eat lunch? The solution.....there they sat at our front door eating their lunch so that they would not miss a single move.

This is what was so consuming..............................

He's now TWO!

Yesterday was Luke's 2nd birthday!!! He was so excited about his big day. He was happy to wake up and see that his daddy took the day off work to spend some time with us on this special day. This year daddy started a great tradition of taking the kids to breakfast on their birthday, however it did not work out as planned with Luke. His big brother thought that he should be able to go also. After many "NOs" from Luke to Logan, Luke gave in and started telling Logan, "you can go with me Logan". We tried to convience him otherwise, explaining how Logan went alone with daddy on his birthday, but the boys were now on a team against us. The girls thought it would be best to sit this one out. All three kids were so happy that daddy was able to go with us to drop them off at school. Daddy & mommy later took cookies to Luke's class to help them celebrate, however most of them just stared blankly at us. We can't forget, they are only two years old. After we picked them up from school we took them to the Science Spectrum to play. We topped the night off with a quick dinner out, cake, and a few presents. We now have listened to him say repeatedly "I have another cake?" . We reply with a yes and then he discusses his "Bob" party this coming weekend. Going along with the tractor theme that plays a role in our house, we are having a Bob the Builder party this weekend with some of his little friends. He is most excited about another cake. He has taken after his mommy in this aspect.

A Boy and His Tractors!

Logan turned 3 January 19, 2008. Anyone who is around this little boy for more than a few minutes quickly learns his passion. I am talking about TRACTORS. It does not matter if they are farm tractors or construction tractors as long as they are in the tractor category. We look for them when we are driving, he likes to watch John Deere dvds, he carries them around everywhere, and to top it off, he sleeps with them in his bed every night. We do not farm nor do we have any involvement in construction so we are not sure where he found this love, but he did. It was only fitting to have a tractor party and he would not have had it any other way! The whole day was a lot of fun. We began the day by giving him a shirt that had a picture on it of him sitting on a huge John Deere. Then, another surprise arrived. Our friend brought his John Deere front loader and parked it in our yard for the day. He LOVED it. All of his little friends got to have their pictures taken on it before they left. It was the perfect surprise for him, although he liked all the tractor gifts that he received too. The day ended by a visit from his aunt Teresa and her family along with his Papa. His aunt Teresa can do no wrong and gives him just about whatever he wants. We cannot believe that he is now three years old. Before we know it he too will be starting kindergarten!

New on the Blog!

So the day has finally come that we decide to keep up with the times and create a blog! We figure that this will be a way for all of you to see our family grow and change. I cannot say that I will always keep it as up to date as possible, but we will most certianly try. I will briefly recap the reasons why we may not be able to post all the time:

1) Hannah is 4 years old now, although in her book she is "almost 5". She is correct as we will celebrate her big #5 in March. We cannot believe how fast she has grown. She attends preschool 2 days a week and loves it. She is very excited about her kindergarten adventures in the fall. I think it will be a really sad day for us. In the beginning, when we pictured life with Hannah, I don't think we ever imagined her growing up much past toddlerhood. Regardless of if we want it or not, she has far surpassed being a toddler. Of course we think she is the smartest little girl around. She has always seemed to love learning. She also loves princesses, babies, and playing dress-up. Lately she has decided that her little brothers need to dress up also, however she does not go to their closet to get them dress up clothes, she just kindly lets them borrow her dresses etc. She is full of life and fun. She is very excited this spring to start playing soccer. We will keep you posted on how that goes.

2) Logan just celebrated his 3rd birthday in January. It was only fitting that he had a "tractor" party as he is in love with any kind of tractor. Logan has grown up so much in the past year. He is a shy little boy around individuals that he does not know very well, but put him in a room of people that he knows, and he is the class clown. He says things and does things for laughs from the crowd. He is a sensitive little thing though. He looks more and more like his daddy every year! Opposite of Hannah, he is all boy. For as long as we can remember he has been fascinated with tractors and construction vechiles. He was the only 2 year old that we knew that could tell you all the different names of the tractors. He also loves all the other boy things like balls, tools, teasing his siblings, etc. Logan attends parents day out 1 day a week and has grown to like it a lot.

3) Luke is just 2 weeks away from being 2 years old. If you ask him though, he is already 2. It is a good thing that he has a sister to promptly correct him. Luke is also the class clown although he does not normally possess the shyness that Logan does. Luke does not know many strangers. Luke likes to be the center of attention, which creates some competition among his siblings. He is full of energy and it does not stop until he is fast asleep. We have come to learn that if we cannot see or hear Luke, then he is up to something. Some places we have recently found him have been; on top of the ktichen table, getting water from the bathroom sink for various reasons, or giving our dog extra food and water (or food in her water!). He also attends parents day out 1 day a week. He seems to like playing with his little friends at school.

I know that this gives you only a small insight to what our sweet little kids are like. It is hard to sum them up in a small paragraph. Each of our children are so unique and sometimes completely different. It has been a lot of fun to watch them grow, however we know that they will not stop growing and these years will soon be fading memories. Our hope and prayer is that they grow to be blessings to each and every one of you reading this!
